PERCAYA DENGAN SEGENAP HATI

 

Bacaan : Amsal 3:5,6

Setahun: Ulangan 4-5

Nats: Yesus Kristus tetap sama, baik kemarin maupun hari ini dan sampai selama-lamanya (Ibrani 13:8)

 

Seorang mahasiswa kehilangan sepeda motornya ketika tengah berkunjung ke indekos temannya. Si pemilik indekos, karena merasa ikut bertanggung jawab atas peristiwa tersebut, menyarankan agar si mahasiswa menemui paranormal terkenal yang ada di daerah itu. Namun, men-dengar saran itu, ia menjawab, "Ibu, saya menaruh percaya kepada Yesus. Saya lebih baik kehilangan sepeda motor saya daripada bertanya ke paranormal." Sebuah pernyataan yang tentu tak mudah dijalankan.

 

Penulis Amsal meminta kita menaruh percaya kepada Tuhan. Kata "percaya" menurut Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia adalah yakin benar atau memastikan akan kemampuan atau kelebihan sese-orang atau sesuatu (bahwa seseorang atau sesuatu itu akan dapat memenuhi harapannya). Dengan demikian, percaya kepada Tuhan berarti yakin benar pada kemampuan Tuhan, bahwa Dia dapat memenuhi apa yang kita harapkan. Bahwa Dia dapat diandalkan, kapan pun dan di mana pun. Selanjutnya, penulis Amsal mengatakan bahwa percaya yang dimaksud adalah percaya dengan sege-nap hati. Artinya, percaya yang juga dibarengi dengan kehendak untuk memasrahkan diri secara penuh kepada maksud dan rencana Tuhan.

 

Percaya tentu memerlukan dasar. Penulis Ibrani mengatakan bahwa Yesus Kristus tetap sama, baik kemarin, hari ini, sampai selama-lamanya (Ibrani 13:8). Ayat tersebut menjadi peneguhan bagi kita bahwa Yesus layak dipercaya dan diandalkan karena Dia tidak berubah. Jika demikian, dalam kehidupan kita sehari-hari-menjalankan bisnis, karier, pergaulan, kepemilikan atas sesuatu, kepada siapakah dan dalam apakah kita menaruh percaya? --SS

BELIEVE with all your heart

 

Readings: Proverbs 3:5,6

One Year: Deuteronomy 4-5

Nats: Jesus Christ the same yesterday and today and forever (Hebrews 13:8)

 

One student lost his motorcycle when his friend was visiting the outhouse. The owner of the outhouse, because he felt partly responsible for the incident, suggested that the student meet with famous psychics in the area. However, heard that advice, he replied, "Mom, I put trust in Jesus. I'd rather lose my motorcycle instead of asking the paranormal." A statement is certainly not easy to run.

 

The writer of Proverbs asks us to put trust in God. The word "trust" according to Big Indonesian Dictionary is sure true or the ability or the excess will ensure someone or something (that someone or something that will be able to meet expectations). Thus, believing in God means believing correctly on the ability of God, that He can fulfill what we expect. That He is reliable, anytime and anywhere. Furthermore, the author of Proverbs says that the trust in question is believed to sege heart-nap. That is, believe that is also coupled with the will to surrender myself fully to the purpose and plan of God.

 

Believe it would require fundamental. Writer of Hebrews says that Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, forever (Hebrews 13:8). The verse becomes confirmation for us that Jesus is trustworthy and reliable because he has not changed. If so, in our daily lives-run business, career, relationships, ownership of something, to whom and in what we put our trust? - SS

Date: 26/01/2011 8:28 am The Gospel According to the Dept. Store. Ada kisah tentang kebaikan dan kasih yang tercecer dari antara perayaan-perayaan Natal. Semacam kisah Orang Samaria yang Baik Hati. Kisah tentang kasih yang indah ini sayangnya tidak terjadi di gereja, = tetapi di sebuah Dept. Store di Amerika Serikat. Pada suatu hari seorang pengemis wanita yang dikenal dengan sebutan = "Bag Lady" (karena segala harta-bendanya hanya termuat dalam sebuah tas yang = ia bawakemana-mana sambil mengemis) memasuki sebuah Dept. Store yang mewah sekali. Hari-hari itu adalah menjelang hari Natal. Toko itu dihias dengan indah sekali. Lantainya semua dilapisi karpet yang baru dan indah. Pengemis ini tanpa ragu-ragu memasuki toko ini. Bajunya kotor dan penuh lubang-lubang. Badannya mungkin sudah tidak mandi berminggu-minggu. Bau badan menyengat hidung. Ketika itu seorang hamba Tuhan wanita mengikutinya dari belakang. Ia berjaga-jaga, kalau petugas sekuriti toko itu mengusir pengemis ini, sang hamba Tuhan mungkin dapat membela atau membantunya. Wah, tentu pemilik atau pengurus toko mewah ini tidak ingin ada pengemis kotor dan bau mengganggu para pelanggan terhormat yang ada di toko itu. Begitu pikir sang hamba Tuhan wanita. Tetapi pengemis ini dapat terus masuk ke bagian-bagian dalam toko itu. Tak ada petugas keamanan yang mencegat dan mengusirnya. Aneh ya. Padahal, para pelanggan lain berlalu lalang di situ dengan setelan jas atau gaun yang mewah dan mahal. Di tengah Dept. Store itu ada piano besar (grand piano) yang dimainkan seorang pianis dengan jas tuksedo, mengiringi para penyanyi yang menyanyikan lagu-lagu natal dengan gaun yang indah. Suasana di toko itu tidak cocok sekali bagi si pengemis wanita itu. Ia nampak seperti makhluk aneh di lingkungan gemerlapan itu. Tetapi sang 'bag lady" berjalan terus. Sang hamba Tuhan itu juga mengikuti terus dari jarak tertentu. Rupanya pengemis itu mencari sesuatu dibagian Gaun Wanita. Ia mendatangi counter paling eksklusif yang memajang gaun-gaun mahal bermerek (branded items) dengan harga diatas $ 2500 per piece. Kalau dikonversi dengan kurs hari-hari ini, harganya dalam rupiah = sekitar Rp. 20 juta Baju-baju yang mahal dan mewah ! Apa yang dikerjakan pengemis ini? Sang pelayan bertanya, "Apa yang dapat saya bantu bagi anda?" "Saya ingin mencoba gaun merah muda itu ?" Kalau anda ada di posisi sang pelayan itu, bagaimana respons anda ? Wah, kalau pengemis ini mencobanya tentu gaun-gaun mahal itu akan jadi = kotor dan bau, dan pelanggan lain yang melihat mungkin akan jijik membeli baju-baju ini setelah dia pakai. Apalagi bau badan orang ini begitu menyengat, tentu akan merusak = gaun-gaun itu. Tetapi mari kita dengarkan apa jawaban sang pelayan toko mewah itu. "Berapa ukuran yang anda perlukan ?" "Tidak tahu !" "Baiklah, mari saya ukur dulu." Pelayan itu mengambil pita meteran, mendekati pengemis itu, mengukur = bahu, pinggang, dan panjang badannya. Bau menusuk hidung terhirup ketika ia berdekatan dengan pengemis ini. Ia cuek saja. Ia layani pengemis ini seperti satu-satunya pelanggan terhormat yang mengunjungi counternya. "OK, saya sudah dapatkan nomor yang pas untuk nyonya ! Cobalah yang ini!" Ia memberikan gaun itu untuk dicoba di kamar pas. "Ah, yang ini kurang cocok untuk saya. Apakah saya boleh mencoba yang = lain? "Oh, tentu !"  Kurang lebih dua jam pelayan ini menghabiskan waktunya untuk melayani = sang "bag lady". Apakah pengemis ini akhirnya membeli salah satu gaun yang dicobanya? Tentu saja tidak ! Gaun seharga puluhan juta rupiah itu jauh dari jangkauan kemampuan keuangannya. Pengemis itu kemudian berlalu begitu saja, tetapi dengan kepala tegak = karena ia telah diperlakukan sebagai layaknya seorang manusia. Biasanya ia dipandang sebelah mata. Hari itu ada seorang pelayan toko yang melayaninya, yang = menganggapnya seperti orang penting, yang mau mendengarkan permintaannya. Tetapi mengapa pelayan toko itu repot-repot melayaninya ? Bukankah kedatangan pengemis itu membuang-buang waktu dan perlu biaya bagi toko = itu? Toko itu harus mengirim gaun-gaun yang sudah dicoba itu ke Laundry, dicuci bersih agar kembali tampak indah dan tidak bau. Pertanyaan ini juga mengganggu sang hamba Tuhan yang memperhatikan apa yang terjadi di counter itu. Kemudian hamba Tuhan ini bertanya kepada pelayan toko itu setelah ia selesai melayani tamu "istimewa"-nya. "Mengapa anda membiarkan pengemis itu mencoba gaun-gaun indah ini ?" "Oh, memang tugas saya adalah melayani dan berbuat baik (My job is to serve and to be kind !) "Tetapi, anda 'kan tahu bahwa pengemis itu tidak mungkin sanggup = membeli gaun-gaun mahal ini?" "Maaf, soal itu bukan urusan saya. Saya tidak dalam posisi untuk = menilai atau menghakimi para pelanggan saya. Tugas saya adalah untuk melayani dan berbuat baik." Hamba Tuhan ini tersentak kaget. Di jaman yang penuh keduniawian ini ternyata masih ada orang-orang = yang tugasnya adalah melayani dan berbuat baik, tanpa perlu menghakimi = orang lain. Hamba Tuhan ini akhirnya memutuskan untuk membawakan khotbah pada = hari Minggu berikutnya dengan thema "Injil Menurut Toko Serba Ada". Khotbah ini menyentuh banyak orang, dan kemudian diberitakan di halaman-halaman surat kabar di kota itu. Berita itu menggugah banyak orang sehingga mereka juga ingin dilayani = di toko yang eksklusif ini. Pengemis wanita itu tidak membeli apa-apa, tidak memberi keuntungan = apa-apa, tetapi akibat perlakuan istimewa toko itu kepadanya, hasil penjualan = toko itu meningkat drastis, sehingga pada bulan itu keuntungan naik 48 % ! =C2=AB "Peliharalah kasih persaudaraan. Jangan kamu lupa memberi kebaikan kepada orang, sebab dengan berbuat demikian beberapa orang dengan tidak diketahuinya telah menjamu malaikat-malaikat." Ibrani 13:1-2. TUHAN YESUS memberkati....

The story of this beautiful love that unfortunately does not happen in church, = but in a Dept. Store in the United States. One day a beggar woman known as = "Bag Lady" (because of all the property-only object contained in a bag = he bawakemana everywhere while begging) into a Department. Luxury Store once. Those days were before Christmas. The shop is decorated with beautiful. The floor was all covered with new carpet and beautiful. Beggars without hesitation to enter this store. His clothes were dirty and full of holes. Her body may have not bathed in weeks. Body odor stung her nose. When the woman was a servant of the Lord followed him from behind. He is just in case, if the store security officer drove this beggar, the servant of God may be able to defend or help him. Well, of course, luxury store owner or manager does not want any beggars dirty and smelly disrupt its esteemed customers in the store. Once the woman thought the man of God. But beggars can continue to enter sections of the store. No security guards intercept and throw. Weird yes. In fact, other customers passing by in situ with a suit or dress fancy and expensive. In the middle Dept. Store was no grand piano (grand piano) which played a pianist with a tuxedo jacket, accompany the singers who sing Christmas songs with a beautiful dress.
